National Senior Citizen’s Day

By the time someone reaches their senior years, they’ve given a lot to their family and community. In the spirit of celebrating them and their contributions, National Senior Citizen’s Day was created. This year, we celebrate it on August 21, and we’re sharing some of the benefits of aging.

AARP

Well known for advocating for the rights of seniors and for providing the popular discount card to members, AARP offers many other benefits as well. Ranging from insurance for you and your pet to travel and entertainment options, there’s a lot of ways seniors can save and enjoy living with the help of AARP.

Senior Citizen’s Discounts

In addition to AARP, many other senior discount programs offer savings to people of retirement age. The actual chronological age may vary depending on the program, so it’s best to ask if you’re not sure. Many retail and grocery stores, restaurants, movie theaters, travel companies, and cell phone providers offer discounts, too. Check out the list here and ask your favorite places to shop if they have any discounts you can take advantage of.

We Appreciate You

This year, take a few moments to say thank you to the seniors in your life. And if you’re a business owner, consider offering a senior discount (unless you already have one.)

To all the seniors in our life, thank you for all you have done and continue to do! We appreciate you.
